Kochi, July 6 (UNI) The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) Kerala unit today demanded that the Centre clarify on its reported move to erect some additional structures around the disputed site in Ayodhya.

Talking to reporters here, senior IUML leader and president of the Kerala unit Panakkad Syed Mohamedali Shihab Thangal said that the IUML was in the dark on this move although its representative was a part of the Union Council of Ministers.

''Our minister E Ahamed does not have any knowledge of this move.

We have come to know of this through certain media reports,'' Mr Thangal said.

He said according to these reports, the Central Government was planning to move the Supreme Court for permission to construct some additional structures around the disputed site.

State unit secretary T A Ahamed Kabeer said that it was obligatory for the Central Government to explain the actual position and clarify the doubts raised by the media reports.

Regarding the Kerala Government move to implement reservation of seats in minority educational institutions also, Mr Thangal said that the IUML was opposed to this.

''We want the rights of the minorities to be protected in this regard,'' he added.
