Indian assistance for schools in Nepal
Kathmandu, July 6 (UNI) India has provided financial assistance for the construction of schools in Nawalparasi district in south-western Nepal, an Indian Embassy release said here today.
Shree Pragati Secondary School will be getting NRs.1.54 crore out of the total assistance of NRs 3.75 crore and the balance amount will be utilised for building the infrastructure of Shree Adarsh Secondary School, the release said.
The assistance will contribute to the education of more than 2,000 students in the district by providing improved infrastructure for learning, the release added.
Indian Ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shankar Mukherjee inaugurated the buildings of Shree Pragati Secondary School, Swathi Secondary School and Shree Adarsh Secondary School yesterday in the presence of the representatives of local Government and community leaders.
''India's commitment in strengthening and diversifying bilateral relations with Nepal through economic cooperation is steadfast and will further strengthen and diversify the prosperity and development of its people,'' the release noted.
