Hosanagar records 12 cms rain

Bangalore, July 6 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hours today.

Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall amounts (cm): Hosanagar 12; Linganamakki 11; Londa, Talaguppa 10 each; Mudigere 9; Kollur 8; Sirsi, Kammardi 7 each.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Joida, Sringeri., Sakleshpura 6 each; Nilkund, Khanapur, Agumbe 5 each; Siddapura (Uttara Kannada dt), Sagar, Thirthahalli, Kalasa 4 each; Bantwal, Dharmasthala, Kumta, Yellapura, Haliyal, Koppa 3 each.

Forecast valid until Saturday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Forecast for Farmers: Moderate to heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all districts of Coastal Karnataka and at many places over ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over Belgaum, Dharwad and Haveri districts of North Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over remaining districts of North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Forecast for Bangalore: Generally cloudy. Strong surface winds gusty at times.
