Heavy recovery of stolen material in MP
Morena, MP, July 6 (UNI) With the arrest of five thieves, about Rs eight lakh worth of gold and silver jewellery, three motorbikes, as many cell phones, Rs 27,000 and a Maruti car stolen from Delhi were recovered here today.
Superintedent of Police Yogeshwar Chaudhry and Additional SP Manish Kapuria told mediapersons a tip-off was received that certain criminals were en route to secretly sell ornaments to businesman Trilokinath Gupta in the bullion market. A raid on the trader's premises led to the arrests.
The thieves were identified as Gwalior-resident Udaybeer Singh Gujjar, Ram Avtar Gujjar, Jagdeesh Gujjar and Balbeer Singh besides this district's Balester Singh Gujjar.
Trilokinath and his son Raj were also apprehended.
''Gold jewellery weighing 472 g and silver ornaments weighing 5 kg were recovered. During interrogation, the thieves confessed that the gold was stolen from a lawyer's home on June 28 and 29 in Shivpuri district's Pohri. The gang also targeted the residence of Behat's Sarpanch Nandkishore Gujjar in 2002,'' Mr Chaudhry said.
