Hasbro to open 25 showrooms by Mar '07, to launch sporty menswear
Ahmedabad, July 6 (UNI) The Chennai-based Hasbro fashion house, which opened its first exclusive showroom outside south on Ahmedabad's new business district on Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway today, plans to open 25 such exclusive showrooms in new territories by March 2007.
Disclosing the company's other future plans, its director Hanif Sattar said the showrooms at Mumbai and Kolkata would be opened in July, while at least four more showrooms would be in Gujarat, at Baroda, Surat, Rajkot and one more at Ahmedabad.
The Rs 50 crore company already owns 25 exclusive showrooms in the four southern states, besides a few in Sri Lanka, UAE and other Gulf countries, as it plans to open the next one abroad in Malaysia.
Hasbro has a presence in 400 multi-brand outlets in India and 50 abroad.
He said Hasbro, known for 'Genesis' formal wear and 'Basics' for lifestyle and fashion, has more vibrant, trendy and sporty wear, besides shoes up its sleeves. There is no plan for either women's dresses nor ethnic.
Mr Sattar that he and his brother Suhail have launched Hasbro as garment distribution company in 2000. They had garment manufacturing units in Chennai since 1993. Its capacity has been increased to 1.2 million units per annum, as another unit of 2.5 million units per annum has been added in Bangalore.
