Gujarat gets respite from rains

Ahmedabad, July 6 (UNI) Following a respite from rains today, people, who had been evacuated from low-lying areas and from the banks of the Poonam, Kaveri and other rivers, returned to their houses.

Power supply, which had been disrupted for the last four days, has been restored in 5,898 out of 6,800 villages.

Most roads that were closed to traffic have also been restored, an official release here said.
