Govt residences: SC directs UP Govt to furnish list

New Delhi, July 6 (UNI) The Supreme Court today allowed an application filed by an organisation Lok Parhari (LP) run by a retired IAS officer seeking directions to the government of UP to furnish a list of persons/organisations allotted government residences from the general pool in Lucknow as these allotments are illegal.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal and Justice C K Thakker directed the state of Uttar Pradesh to submit complete list of such allottments within four weeks by way of an affidavit.

The court also allowed another application filed by LP general secretary S N Shukla seeking modification of the apex court order dated January 13,2006 to the extent that issue of rule shall remain confined to the Union government and state of Bihar and MP only regarding illegal occupation of government property.
