Four held in kidnap case

Tiruchirapalli,Jul 6 (UNI) Police today arrested four persons on the charges of kidnapping a school boy for a huge ransom.

Talking to newsmen here this evening,city police Commissioner Sunil Kumar Singh said R Prakash(20),A Saravanan (23),K Faizal Khan (20) and R Ramesh (19) hatched a conspiracy to kidnap a13-year-old Rizwan Adhil. Who is studying eigth standard , to make quick money.

The culprits kidnapped Adhil on Tuesday last after he was dropped near his house by an autorickhshaw.

They took the boy to Kodangipatti village in Thanjavur district and demanded a huge ransom from the boy's father who is a wealthy man.

When the police launched a massive hunt to trace the boy. The kidnappers fearing police action had freed the boy last evening.

Based on the boy's statement, a special police team rushed to the Kodangipatti village and arrested one of the culprits who was hiding in a house.

Later, the police arrestd the remaining persons.

Police have seized a Maruthi van used for kidnapping the boy, besides a two wheeler and two mobile phones.
