Five killed, one injured in road accident at Kinnuar

Shimla, July 6 (UNI) At least five people were killed one person was seriously injured after their jeep skidded off a road and fell into a gorge near Bhavanagar in Kinnuar district of Himachal Pradesh today, police sources said.

The accident occurred at about 1830 hrs, while the vehicle was on its way to Rekong Peo from Telangi in the district.

Sources said the injured, identified as Ravikant, has been admitted to the power project hospital at Bhavanagar.

The deceased have been identified as Inder Bhakt Telangi, Vimal Kumar Telangi, Atma Prakash Telangi and Kaka, the driver.

Sources said that the fifth person was yet to be identified.

The district administration has announced an immediate relief of Rs 10,000 each to the next of the kin and free medical treatment to the injured.

The cause of the accident was not yet known and police sources said a case has been registered and investigations were on.
