Edu system should be in tune to fulfil future requirmts:Lakhera

Pondicherry, Jul 6 (UNI) Pondicherry Lt Governor M M Lakhera today said the education system in the country should be in tune to fulfil the future requirements.

Inaugurating a Rs one crore foreign students hostel at the Pondicherry central university here, he called on the industrialists and educationalists to ponder on this.

He said India had once it's own mark and tradition in the field of education in the past and several foreign students did their studies in universities like Nalanda. However, the fame had diminished due to various reasons,he regretted.

Mr Lakhera said due to the communication revolution, the world had become a global village and India had developed in several fields. However, the education in the country was not supporting the future requirements. The school education and higher education should match one another, he added.

Pondicherry University Vice-Chancellor Dr Bhatnagar presided over the function.
