DoNER to create 'Technical Cell' for new projects
Aizawl, Jul 6 (UNI) Ministry of Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER) would create a new unit of the 'Technical cell' to improve the standards of the new projects.
The proposed 'Technical Cell' would comprise one Superintendent Engineer,two Executive Engineers, four assistant Executive Engineers, three personal assistants and one upper Division clerk, official sources here today said.
The various projects like Imphal-based Regional Institute of Medical Sciences have suffered due to lack of technical manpower in the ministry and delay in preparation and processing of the Detailed Project Report (DPR), the sources added.
About 759 projects at an approved cost of Rs 5,096.98 crore had been sanctioned up to June 2006 under Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) for the North Eastern Region.
Out of these, 234 projects have been sanctioned only for Asom, the sources said.
