Cultural centres to boost tourism in Arunachal:Nabam Tuki

Itanagar, July 6 (UNI) In order to boost tourism and infrastructural development Arunachal Pradesh will establish cultural centres in each of its 16 districts.

Urban Development Minister Nabam Tuki informed this while participating in Dree festival -- the agricultural festival of the Apatani tribe -- here.

The minister further added that Chief Minister Gegong Apang had announced the same during a meeting at West Siang district.

Laying emphasis on infrastructural development Mr Tuki said special attention would be given on the tourism sector and the preservation of indigenous culture and tradition by promoting unique games and dresses among the new generation.

Traditional games and sports, community feasts, beauty contest, dance and song competitions were the major attactions of the festival.
