Court issues summons to Thackeray

Mumbai, July 6: A local Court today issued summons to Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray and executive editor of party mouth piece ''Samna' Sanjay Raut to remain present in the court on August 3 in connection with a case filed against him for publishing provocative articles in the newspaper.

Advocate Rajesh Dube, representing complainant Munna Tripathi said that his client had filed the case on Monday last which came up for hearing during the day at the Andheri Railway Mobile Court.

Mr Dube said his client has stated in the application that 'Samna' daily newspaper had carried an article on June 21 this year, which was 'provocative' to two communities and publishing this type of article was harmful for the society.
