Cop held on murder charges

Ahmedabad, July 6 (UNI) A police constable was arrested today for allegedly murdering a 22-year-old youth over a petty issue in the Meghaninagar locality here late last night.

According to Meghaninagar police station sources, the constable, Rameshbhai Parmar, in a fit of rage stabbed Kuldeep Singh Chauhan to death when the latter abused him.

Police said Chauhan, after making some purchases, was refusing to pay the amount to a pan-shop owner.

The police constable intervened and asked Chauhan to pay up the amount. But, Chauhan, instead, started abusing the constable. At this, Parmar lost his temper and stabbed Chauhan with a knife.
