Capt. Anand Balakrishnan takes over command of INS Dronacharya

Kochi, Jul 6 (UNI) Captain Anand Balakrishnan today took over as the Commanding Officer of INS Dronacharya, the country's prestigious gunnery school, located at Fort Kochi.

A post-graduate in Defence Studies from Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, he underwent a course at the United States Naval War College at Newport, Rhode Island, prior to taking over his present appointment After specializing in Gunnery, he served onboard various ships of the Indian Navy including the aircraft carrier INS Viraat, INS Khukri and has commanded INS Porbander (Minesweeper) and INS Sindhudurg (Missile Corvette).

He has also been on the Staff at the Headquarters, Integrated Defence Staff, at Naval Headquarters and at the Centre for Leadership and Behavioural Studies (C-LABS), Kochi, an official release said here.
