Cabinet okays Tehri Pumped Storage Plant at Rs 1657.60 crores

New Delhi, July 6 (UNI) In a move that would reduce the shortage of power in the northern region and improve the hydro thermal mix in the country's power sector, the cabinet today approved execution of the 1000 MW Tehri Pumped Storage Plant at a cost of Rs 1657.60 crore in Uttranchal.

Briefing newspersons after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said the project's 'Interest during Construction' would be Rs 81.64 crore at December 2005 price level at a debt :equity ratio of 70:30.
