Vadodara, July 6 (UNI) The City police today conducted a thorough search of the famous International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple at Gotri following rumours of a bomb.

Police swung into action soon after a representative of the local media informed the police control room about the rumour in the city.

A posse of policemen from J P Road police station, including sleuths from the bomb disposal and dog squads, conducted the search at the temple when the evening ''Aarti'' was on at around 1930 hrs.

After evacuating all the devotees, priests and VIPs, who included Mr Laxminarayan, a Rajya Sabha MP from Bhopal, police conducted a thorough search of the entire temple spread over an area of six acres. But nothing was found inside the temple premises.

When asked, ISKON secretary Nityanand Ram Das strongly condemned those behind spreading the rumour.
