New Delhi, July 6 (UNI) A high-level BJP delegation will meet President APJ Abdul Kalam tomorrow in connection with the ''unceremonious removal'' of AIIMS Director P Venugopal.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting presided over by BJP President Rajnath Singh which was attended among others by Mr L K Advani, Ms Sushma Swaraj, Mr V.K. Malhotra and members of the Doctor's cell of the party.

Party spokesman Prakash Javadekar said the party had sought a meeting with the President and the delegation would most probably be given time in the afternoon. They were yet to get confirmation.

Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok sabha L K Advani and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh will also write a joint letter to the President seeking his intervention to save the autonomy of the prestigious institution.

Mr Venugopal was appointed Director of AIIMS in 2003 for a five- year term during the NDA Government's tenure when Ms Swaraj was the Health Minister.
