Bank of India adopts four villages in Tamil Nadu
Mumbai, July 6 (UNI) Bank of India has adopted four villages in Tamil Nadu - Thokkamur, Koduveli, Mambakkam and Thervai, as a part of its mega project for integrated development of 101 villages in the country.
This forms a part of hosts of activities being undertaken by the bank which is celebrating its centenary this year, bank's Chairman and Managing Director M Balachandran said in a release here today.
The financial/ credit outlay planned for the next three years for the economic development of these villages would be to the extent of Rs 14 crore. Out of it, the first year's lending would be to the tune of Rs five crore.
The bank also has plans to provide financial assistance for dairy development, small road transport operations, solar lighting system, crop loans for all eligible farmers and other activities.
