Bangarappa demands CBI inquiry into BMIC
Udupi, Karnataka, July 6: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party State President S Bangarappa today demanded a CBI inquiry into the entire Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) fiasco.
Addressing party workers after inaugurating the party's new district office here, he said the CBI should go into why excess land was given to the project promoters, Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE), and how the Government failed to verify the actual land requirement and project estimate.
Pointing out that various leaders were giving out different quantum of excess land acquired by NICE, Mr Bangarappa claimed that the coalition partners, JD(S) and BJP, did not see eye to eye on the issue.
With the differences between the coalition partners increasing, the coalition Government would collapse by the year-end, he predicted.
