Baghdatis beats Hewitt to reach semis
LONDON, July 5 (Reuters) Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis stunned Lleyton Hewitt 6-1 5-7 7-6 6-2 to reach the semi-finals of Wimbledon today.
Baghdatis won nine of the first 10 games and threatened to blow the 2002 champion off Centre Court before the Australian sixth seed made a fight of it.
Hewitt recovered from two breaks down to win the second set and came from behind in the third to force a tiebreak.
Baghdatis, the Australian Open runner-up, pummelled away a superb backhand to clinch the third set and then ran away with the fourth as Hewitt capitulated.
