Baalu approves road improvements works in UP
New Delhi, July 6 (UNI) The Centre has approved 17 road improvement works under the Central Road Fund (CRF) proposals in Uttar Pradesh, including two in Rae Bareli district, at a total cost of Rs. 183.83 crore.
The decision was taken by Union Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Minister T R Baalu following a representation from the state government.
As part of the proposals, an amount of Rs 6.5 crore has been sanctioned for widening and strengthening of a 11-km stretch of Aligarh-Raya-Mathura State Highway (SH)-80, while Rs 7.79 crore has been granted for widening and strengthening of 22.65 km stretch of Bhadohi Border-Aural Section of SH-5 in Jaunpur district.
Mr Baalu also sanctioned Rs 29.92 crore for improving 62.60 km (Moradabad-Seohara-Dhampur Section) of SH-49 in Muradabad and Bijnor districts.
An amount of Rs 1,228.40 lakh has been approved for widening and strengthening of 28.75 km of Mainpuri-Jyoti-Sakit Road in Mainpuri district while another Rs 12.18 crore would be spent on improving a section of Ghirore-Kurawali Road in Mainpuri district.
The approved projects also include widening and strengthening of 19.50 km of Shikohabad-Bateshwar Road (Rs 8.83 crore) and 21 km stretch of Shikohabad-Bateshwar Road (Rs 6.39 crore), both in Ferozabad district, and 10 km stretch of Jiyanpur-Mohammadabad Road (Rs 4.43 crore), 0.50 km of Anjan Shaheed-Pakwa Inar-Hazipur Road (Rs 9.67 crore) and 25.40 km of Jiyanpur-Maharajganj Road (Rs 12.83 crore), all in Azamgarh district.
The two projects, which had been approved in Rae Bareli district, are Maharajganj-Dusauti Road (Rs 1.94 crore) and Haidergarh-Maharajganj road (Rs 3.10 crore).
The other projects are widening and strengthening of 30.50 km of Badaun-Bijnore road in J P Nagar district (Rs 14.39 crore), 58.410 km of Badaun-Bijnore road in Badaun District (Rs 22 crore), 33.10 km of Palia-Shahjahanpur-Hardoi Road in Lucknow district (Rs 11.12 crore), 33 km of Palia-Shahjahanpur-Hardoi Road in Hardoi district (Rs 15.84 crore) and 13 km of Raebareli-Sultanpur road in Sultanpur district (Rs 4.58 crore).
