Army Brigadier injured, driver killed in Kashmir accident

Srinagar, July 6 (UNI) An army Brigadier was injured and his driver killed in a road accident at Lawaypora on the Srinagar-Baramulla road today.

Official sources said that a commander of the 69 Mountain brigade was on way to Srinagar from Baramulla when the vehicle in which he was travelling collided with another coming from the opposite direction at Lawayapora, about15 km from here today.

The brigadier was injured in the accident.

However, his driver havaldar Umesh Singh was killed on the spot and two other soldiers were injured.

The Brigadier and the injured soldiers were admitted to 92 base hospital at Badamibagh cantonment here.

A defence ministry spokesman said he was out of danger.
