1,269 pilgrims leave for Amarnath holy cave
Jammu, July 6 (UNI) A fresh batch of 1,269 pilgrims today left here for the Himalayan cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir.
The group of devotees, comprising 765 men, 335 women, 35 children and 134 sadhus, left from the base camp at M A M stadium early this morning under tight security in a fleet of 42 vehicles, officials said.
More than 45,000 pilgrims from across the country have left for the holy cave from Jammu since the commencement of the pilgrimage on June 10, sources added.
Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) sources said the holy cave witnessed the visit of more tnat 1.75 lakh pilgrims since june 10.
