US wants to use diplomacy on N Korea

WASHINGTON, July 5 (Reuters) The United States wants to use diplomacy to get North Korea to ''step back'' and rejoin six-party talks over its nuclear program, the White House said today.

''The key point is to figure out a diplomatic way to get the North Koreans to step back and rejoin the six-party talks,'' White House spokesman Tony Snow told reporters, speaking about North Korea's missile tests and referring to six-nation talks on Pyongyang's nuclear program.
