US-led force kills 35 Taliban in Afghan strike

Kabul, July 5: US-led forces in Afghanistan killed about 35 insurgents in an attack on a Taliban compound in the southern province of Helmand, the force said on Wednesday.

''Coalition forces attacked a known Taliban compound ...last night, killing an estimated 35 extremists while they met at a Taliban compound,'' the U.S.-led force said in a statement.

No members of the coalition force or non-combatants were hurt, it said.
