'UKTI to host Orissa promotion event in London'

Bhubaneswar, Jul 5: The United Kingdom Trade and Investment (UKTI) will host a Orissa promotion event for the first time during an All India Road show in London in October next to promote investment opportunities.

Disclosing this to the newspersons here British Deputy High Commissioner to Eastern India Simon Wilson said the promotion event would be held to promote UK-Orissa business partnership.

He said a team from Orissa would visit United Kingdom in October to propote investment opportunities in the state. The visit will help facilitate discussion on future joint ventures, partnership, collaboration and technology transfer possibilities.

This would be followed by a UKTI organised British business mission which would visit Orissa in March next.

Mr.Wilson said the DFID, providing fund to Orissa in sectors like power, health, educational and rural livelihood, is also financing a project through UNIDO to accelerate the growth of small and medium enterprises in the state.
