Two passengers injured after robbers open fire in train

Guna, MP, July 5 (UNI) Two passengers were injured as armed robbers opened fire in the Kota-Damoh passenger train in Ashoknagar district, police said today.

Three criminals -- Nemichand, Rajendra and one accomplice -- boarded the train between Ashoknagar and Ratikheda station on July 3 night.

The three were threatening a passenger, Sushil Srivastava, and trying to loot Rs 15,000 and his mobile on gunpoint when another passenger Sagunchand intervened.

During the scuffle, two shots were fired injuring Sushil and Sagunchand. Both were admitted to the district hospital.

The accused pulled the chain and fled before the Government Railway Police arrested Nemichand and Rajendra.
