Traders fined for deceiving tourists
Srinagar July 5 : The Jammu and Kashmir government has fined several traders for deceiving tourists in the Valley during the month of June, an official spokesman said today.
He said the enforcement wing of the Tourism Department was continuing with its drive against the default tourist traders in the Kashmir valley.
The officials inspected the handicrafts dealers operating at Gulmarg without registration and realised a fine of Rs 2900 during June from them, the spokesman added.
Besides, he said the Tourism Department retrieved an amount of Rs 1.05 lakh from the errant traders while disposing off several complaints of the visitors.
