Torrential rains lash western Vidarbha
Akola, Maharashtra, July 5 (UNI) Two persons, including a woman, were killed in floods in the district here in the last 24 hours even as torrential rains lashed the three districts of Akola, Buldhana and Washim of Maharashtra, according to official sources here.
Normal life has been disrupted and thousands of hectares of agricultural land damaged.
A woman was washed away in flood waters in the adjoining Washim district, while a person was washed away in a Nallah near Matergaon in Shegaon Taluka in Buldhana district.
Several residential colonies were submerged and rivers, ponds, and tanks flooded.
