Sugar prices up on fresh demand

Navi Mumbai, Jul 5 (UNI) Spot sugar wholesale prices rose on fresh buying support from bulk consumers, traders at the sugar market said today.

Prices of small grade went up by Rs three per quintal on better buying support while medium grade eased by Rs five per quintal, on increased offers by stockists.

Ex-mill prices of small and medium grades hiked by Rs 15 and Rs five per quintal, respectively, on reduced stock supply.

Following were the spot sugar wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade Rs 1,858/1,891, medium grade Rs 1,890/1,958.

Ex-mill small grade Rs 1,840/1880 and medium grade Rs 1,865/1,905.
