Security drill conducted at dispute site in Ayodhya

Ayodhya, July 5 (UNI) On the first anniversary of the fidayeen attack on the Ram Janmabhoomi here, a security drill was today carried out at the disputed site.

Faizabad SSP B B Sharma said securitymen deployed at the site were alerted after a message was flashed on the wireless that four terrorists had stormed the 'Sita-ki-Rasoi'.

Later, the 'terrorists' were arrested. Soon bomb disposal squad and personnel of other security agencies personnel also reached the spot.

However, it was dislosed that it was a security drill to assess the preparedness of the security mechanism at the disputed site.

In the dastardly fidayeen attack on July 5, 2005, five terrorists armed with sophisticated weapons had stormed the high-security premises.

However, all of them were gunned down by alert securitymen in an hour long encounter. Two locals were also killed in the cross fire.

Later, five terrorists were arrested from UP and Jammu and Kashmir for being part of conspiracy.
