Saints to perform 'parikrama'

Varanasi, July 5 (UNI) In a bid to seek quick and amicable resolution of the vexed Ayodhya tangle, Hindu saints from across the country will perform 'parikrama' of the Ram Janmabhoomi complex, Ayodhya on December 2 next.

A resolution to this respect was passed by a conclave of saints here on July three, attended by Shankaracharya of Jyotish and Dwarika-Shardapith Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati.

Underscoring the need for early resolution of the dispute, Shankaracharya, in association with saints from Kashi, Ayodhya and other parts of the country, fixed December 2 for performing 'parikrama'.

The key disciple and official spokesperson of the Shankaracharya, Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati said here last night a resolution was also passed to solve the matter without hurting the sentiments of the Muslim community.

The 'parikrama' will be led by the Shankaracharya himself, Swami Avimukteshwaranand added.
