Rupee weak by eight paise; closes at Rs 46.08/09/USD

Mumbai July 5 (UNI) Indian currency today grew weaker by eight paise to close at Rs 46.08/009/US Dollar as compared to the previous close of Rs 46.00/04/US Dollar.

Earlier Rupee opened at Rs 46.05/07/US Dollar and in the mid-morning session traded at 46.06/08/US Dollar.

The six month forward premia was at 1.00 per cent and the one year premia was at 1.14 per cent.

RBI fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 46.03/US Dollar today.

Rupee could not fare very well against other currencies too.

Rupee vs euro was down at Rs 58.83(58.75), rupee vs pound sterling was down at Rs 84.85 (84.75) and against yen too it was down at Rs 40.10(40.09).
