'Prices cannot be controlled by CM's meetings'
New Delhi, July 5: Accusing the UPA Government of not taking any measures to contain price rise, the BJP today said the Congress must realise that prices of essential commodities cannot be checked by holding CMs meetings.
BJP spokesman Arun Jaitley, commenting on the second Congress CMs conference on price rise, said the UPA had transformed an era of surplus to an economy of shortages and added an eminent economist turned-Prime Minister was unable to manage the economy. The government did not take any steps to check the price rise during the last two years in office, he added.
Taking exception blaming the NDA for the present mess, Mr Jaitley said by indulging in such cheap tactics, the UPA cannot hope to distance the common man from the NDA.
