Police seize Rs 5-lakh fake notes
Rajkot, July 5 (UNI) In a joint raid, Mumbai Police Crime Branch and Rajkot Police seized fake notes of Rs 5.04 lakh from the Suzlon Security&Finance premises and arrested its owner Maganbhai Limbabhai Tanti from his residence here.
Tanti has been taken to Mumbai for further interrrogation in the case, which police suspect it to be part of a big ISI plan to push fake Indian currency notes into the country to fund its subversive activities.
Police said that Tanti was in debt after losing money in the share market.
There were 50 wads of Rs 100 denomination notes and four notes of Rs 1,000 denomination. Tanti was arrested from his Archana Park residence on the Saurashtra University Road.
The arrest was a sequel to the arrest of one Babubhai who had told Mumbai police that he had got fake currency notes from Tanti.
