Nine Army jawans arrested
Patna, July 5 (UNI) Nine Army jawans have been arrested on charges of misbehaving with passengers of a general compartment of 2505 UP Guwahati-New Delhi North East Express beteween Katihar and Barauni stations in north Bihar.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (rail) Ajay Verma said here today that the jawans started roughing up passengers soon after the train left Katihar station last night. He said the jawnas continued with their 'unseemly' and 'criminal' act till the passengers raised an alarm when the train reached Barauni station.
Later, Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force came to the rescue of harried passengers and arrested them on the basis of identification done by the passengers.
An FIR has been filed with the Barauni railway police station.
The local commandant of the Army has also been informed.
