Montfort University to award honorary degree to Big B

London, July 5 (UNI) Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, popularly known as Big B would be awarded an honorary degree by Montfort University Leicester in recognition of his distinguished film career.

Besides, Mr Bachchan has also been invited by Licester east MP Keith Vaz, to meet Leicester's community at a special event, expected to be attended by thousands of people. The proceeds of the event will go to charity.

''I am delighted that our University in Leicester will be the first in the United Kingdom to award an honorary degree to Amitabh Bachchan. I'm also thrilled that Mr Bachchan will be coming to meet the community at this very special event. I am pleased that he will be able to support a worthwhile charity in India and Leicester and hope that people will also respond positively,'' said Mr Vaz.
