Monsoon's fury claims two lives in Badwani
Badwani, MP, July 5 (UNI) Heavy rainfall in this Madhya Pradesh district claimed two lives today while life was thrown out of gear with power supply and road links being cut off at several places.
A father and his son were washed away while they were trying to herd cattle from the stable in their house to a safer place.
The bodies of Mansharam Patidar (43) and his son Mohan (22) were recovered at a distance of few kilometres.
In a separate incident on July 3, Ten Singh (30) died after he was swept away in Goi river.
As per official information, road links were affected as many small rivers -- including 'Goi' and 'Deb' - were flooded due to heavy rainfall since last afternoon.
The district's communication links with Khargone district were snapped, while road links with Nevali and Silavad in Palsood were affected.
Power supply could be restored at several places only after 8-10 hours.
Sendhwa recorded maximum rainfall of 90 mm, overnight, while it was 75 mm in Nevali, 72 mm in Rajpur, 58 mm in Beekiri, 28 mm in Pati tehsil and 55.1 mm in Badwani.
