Mittal to meet Orissa CM on July 7

Bhubaneswar, Jul 05 (UNI) After the successful merger with the Arcelor,Mittal Steel is now contemplating to make good investment in mineral rich Orissa.

Mr Laxminivas Mittal, Chairman of the Mittal Steel Company is arriving here to hold discussion with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on July 7 for a possible investment in the state.

The industrial circles in Orissa were quite optimistic that Mr Mittal's visit to Orissa would open up huge investment in steel sector in the state which has so far signed more than 40 MoUs with business houses for setting up of Steel Plants.

Mittal Steel Company had already signed a MoU with the neighbouring Jharkhand government for setting up of a 12 million ton green field steel making unit and mining facility.

With the merger of Mittal Steel and Arcelor, Mr Mital had indicated new business plan for the next stage of industrial expansion and consolidation.

He had also hinted that the combined company Arcelor Mittal would focus on China and India for possible investment and acquiring companies.
