Mahindra unveils "Champion Alfa"
Chennai, Jul 5 (UNI) Mahindra&Mahindra, a leader in three wheeler 0.75 tonne category, today unveiled "Champion Alfa," a 0.5 tonne three-wheeler cargo carrier in the city.
Announcing the launch at a press conference here, Brand Manager Yogesh Naik said the phased rollout of the vehicle would take place in the rest of the state over the next one week.
The Chennai launch would be followed by introduction of the vehicle in Coimbatore, Salem and Madurai, he said.
The vehicle launched in August last, had evoked good response in markets in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharastra and Gujarat.
"Champion Alfa," a smaller load variant of Mahindra Champion, a 0.75 tonne three wheeler in the cargo and passenger segment, offered many unique features, including extra fuel economy, he claimed.
He said in Tamil Nadu, the 0.5 tonne diesel cargo three wheeler category was expected to be over 10,000 vehicles per year. "Mahindra&Mahindra is confident of capturing 20 per cent of the market share in the current financial year," Mr Naik said.
