K'taka government to initiate action against illegal mining
Bangalore, July 5 (UNI) Karnataka Forest and Environment Minister C Chennigappa today said that the state government has taken note of illegal mining in the districts of Tumkur and Bangalore rural and is planning to take action.
The Minister in his reply to an unstarred question raised by Mr Basavaraj Bommai (JD-U) in Legislative Council said that the illegal mining was reported in Chikkanayanakanahalli taluk in Tumkur district and Kanakapura taluk of Bangalore rural district.
Regarding Bellary district and other places in the state, he said the government has proposed to conduct a survey of the forest land and only after receiving the information, it could take action on illegal mining.
