JMM MLA injured in road accident in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, July 4 (UNI) Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLA from Baripada Bimal Lochan Das was injured in a road accident near Panikoili in Jajpur district today.

Police said the vehicle in which Mr Das was travelling had a head-on collision with a speeding truck. Four other people accompanying Mr Das were also injured in the accident.

Mr Das was immediately shifted to S C B Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack for treatment.

On July 2 last BJP MLA from Laikera Brundaban Majhi was injured in a road accident near Handpa in Angul district. He was also shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital and admitted to ICU.

The mishap took place when the vehicle in which Mr Majhi was travelling hit a road side tree. The driver of the vehicle managed to flee from the scene after the accident.
