IPS officer attacked with axes
Shivpuri, MP, July 5 (UNI) An IPS officer and a sub-divisional police officer were attacked with axes in broad daylight today by ruffians who were looting an restaurant near this district's Satanwada township.
However, ignoring their injuries, the Superintendent of Police Sajid Farid Shapu and SDO(P) Mohinder Kanwar gave chase and apprehended three of the accused while the rest managed to escape.
Mr Kanwar opened fire injuring accused Mota Thakur in the leg. He was rushed to hospital.
Police said Mota, Parmal Thakur, Rameshwar Thakur and others targeted Santosh Jain's eatery and also damaged an autorickshaw. The officers, who were passing by, stopped the ruffians who first opened fire from a crude gun and then used axes. Mr Shapu sustained a shoulder injury while Mr Kanwar's arm was fractured.
Those apprehended included Parmal and Rameshwar.
