Haryana govt to prepare development plans for all districts

Faridabad, July 5 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to draw up comprehensive District Plan for the overall development of all districts.

Under this Plan the state government will seek a suitable financial package from the Planning Commission of India, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, state Planning Commission Bhaskar Chatterjee, said, addressing the District Statistical Officers and Planning Officers of eight districts in a meeting here.

Mr Chatterjee directed the officers to collect data of all the departments keeping in view the budget requirements for future planning of five years. He also directed them to gather information about the success of the implementation of the welfare schemes launched to know whether these had benefited the people and improved their living conditions.

He said that District Planning Committee's consisting members of all the departments and public representatives should be formed so that a systematic State Plan could be prepared for each district.
