Engineer gets 2 years' RI for possession of disproportionate assets
Bhopal, July 5 (UNI) A special court in Gwalior has sentenced a Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board executive engineer to two years' rigorous imprisonment for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, Lokayukta Police said today.
Property worth Rs 18.60 lakh was ordered to be seized. A case had been filed under the Right to Information Act. On June 2, 1997 a raid at the engineer's residence revealed movable and immovable property amounting to over Rs three lakh.
The court also impossed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the engineer.
