De Silva, Russell Arnold join Tendulkar, Agarkar at Lashings

London, July 5 (UNI) After landing Sachin Tendulkar and his Team India colleague Ajit Agarkar, Lashings club has added Sri Lankan duo of Aravinda de Silva and Russell Arnold to its star-studded World XI.

The club announced that former Lankan captain De Silva has joined the squad yesterday as the team travelled to Somerset to play Taunton School.

''Russel will be with Lashings from July 11th, when the team travels to Cornwall to play against Penryn School. Both will remain with the squad until the end of the season,'' the club said in a statement.

This year, the club has roped in a number of new players, including South African pacer Nanty Hayward, England's Ashes winning women team captain Clare Connor, former Zimbabwe captain Tatenda Taibu and veteran England bowler Phil DeFreitas.

The current squad includes Zimbabwean duo of Henry Olonga and Tatenda Taibu, West Indians Richie Richardson, Vasbert Drakes, Alvin Kallicharan, Jimmy Adams, Gordon Greenidge, Courtney Walsh and Phil Simmonds, Kiwi pair of Chris Harris and Chris Cairns, Aussies Ian Harvey and Greg Blewett, England trio of Clare Connor, Phil DeFreitas and Chris Lewis, Sri Lankans Aravinda De Silva and Russel Arnold, former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif, Proteas Nanty Hayward, besides Tendulkar and fellow Mumbaikar Agarkar.
