Bribery cases: ACB arrest officer; one year RI for another
Hyderabad, Jul 5 (UNI) The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths today arrested an agriculture officer when he accepted a bribe of Rs 4,000 from the complainant in Nandavaram mandal in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh.
According to an ACB release here, the tainted amount was recovered from R Sadasiva Rao.
He would be produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases here.
In another incident, Special Judge for ACB cases here convicted and sentenced D Ramulu, former Additional Assistant Engineer of AP Transco, to one year rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 500 on him in a bribery case.
Mr Ramulu was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from the complainant on April eight, 1999, the release added.
