Ludhiana, July 5 (UNI) BJP chief Rajnath Singh today accused the UPA government of shielding the ''real culprits'' in the Navy War Room leak and demanded a probe by a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) into the case.

''Some people in the government are trying to protect the real culprits who must be exposed,'' he said while talking to reporters here before flagging off a three-day 'Mehngaai Virodhi Cycle Yatra' here to protest against the spiralling prices of essential commodities.

After Punjab, the BJP would launch a nationwide campaign against such burning issues, the BJP chief said.

Reacting to the Akali Dal (Amritsar) leader Simranjit Singh Mann's threat to oppose the yatra, he quipped, ''India is a democratic country and everyone has a right to express his opinion''.

On the BJP's strategy about the coming assembly elections in the state, the party chief said, it will launch ''new faces with new zeal'' in the poll arena. This approach had already paid dividends in the West Bengal elections, he added but did not elaborate.
