35 low cost houses to be built in Tangdhar
Srinagar, July 5 : About 35 families living below poverty line (BPL) were provided more than Rs 6 lakh under the Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) for construction of houses in earthquake-hit Tangdhar area of Jammu and Kashmir during the last financial year.
This was stated at a review meeting of the Rural Development Agency at Karnah.
The meeting was told 25 low cost houses were under construction at an estimated cost of Rs 5.30 lakh.
For this purpose, about Rs 2.3 lakh have been spent so far.
Under the Rural Housing Scheme, ten houses were being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.12 lakh.
The meeting expressed the hope that these low cost houses will be completed within the stipulated time.
